Common side effects include stomach upset, heartburn, constipation, headache, dizziness,
drowsiness and blurred vision. Other side effects include respiratory depression and
decreased muscle functionality. Long term use has been associated with vision damage.
Inform your doctor if you develop: muscle stiffness, skin rash, itching, rapid heart rate, swelling of the face or difficulty urinating.
Before taking cyclobenzaprine, tell your doctor if you have: glaucoma, an overactive thyroid
gland, heart disease, difficulty urinating or any allergies. For WOMEN: check with your
doctor if you are (or intending to) breast-feed before taking this drug.
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medications you already take,
especially: cimetidine, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills,
narcotic pain medication (eg., codeine), anti-allergy drugs, asthma drugs, cough-and-cold
medicines. Alcohol adds to the dizziness and drowsiness caused by cyclobenzaprine, limit
stop or alcohol intake.
Overdose of Cyclobenzaprine
Symptoms of overdose include drowsiness, fast or irregular heartbeat, enlarged pupils,
seizures, and loss of consciousness.
Do not use for longer than 3 weeks unless specifically instructed to do so.
Cyclobenzaprine provides temporary relief and must be used in addition to rest, physical
therapy and other measures.
Storage of Cyclobenzaprine
Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight, do not store in the bathroom.
